Getting started

A short route from installation to a system of your own.

Install and launch

Orbit 1.0 is for 64-bit Windows 10/11. Run the installer, choose whether to create a shortcut and open Orbit. You do not need a separate Node.js or Python installation.

For the current build, email support or ask in the official Orbit channel. The installer does not currently have a publisher’s digital signature.

Guest or account

Choose “Continue as guest” to work without signing in. Data stays on this computer and synchronization is unavailable. You can sign in with Google or Yandex later while keeping local tasks.

On first use, choose interests, adjust your name and appearance and explore the guided tour. You can postpone or skip the tour and run it later from Settings.

First tasks and habits

Create a list and add a few tasks. Give an important task a date, time or subtasks. Right-click a list or task for available actions.

Add a habit you want to maintain and start a focus session. Adjust attributes and rewards to suit you. Clicking your sidebar avatar opens Status, where you can edit your profile.

Connect Drive and Calendar separately

Your account menu opens the corresponding Google or Yandex services. For Google Drive, open Settings → Google Drive → Connect Google Drive. Choose the same account and grant permission. Orbit does not read ordinary Drive files.

For Google Calendar, open Settings → Google Calendar → Connect Google Calendar. Select the calendar, direction and task lists. Review changes before a manual exchange. Yandex Calendar has a similar setup in its own section.

Google access may be limited to approved testers while the project is being prepared and reviewed. Reinstalling Orbit does not resolve an “app not verified” block. Contact the team if you encounter it.

Backups and restoration

In Settings, open Data, backups and transfer. Create copies of one or all profiles, export a file or restore data with a preview.

Drive stores snapshots, not an automatically merged profile. Another device’s snapshot is added as profile copies. A safety backup precedes replacement and reset. Keep a separate export of important information.

Sound and help

Use “Check sound” in Settings. If you cannot hear it, check the Windows volume mixer and output device. Event sounds depend on volume, quiet hours and presentation mode.

For help, email Orbitaktivfaz@yandex.ru with your Orbit version, Windows version and steps to reproduce the issue. Do not send passwords, tokens or Google registration files.
